Damsel in Defense with Alisa Griffin

**Trigger Warning – this episode references abuse, human trafficking, and other situations that may not be suitable for all audiences. Listener discretion is advised**

In this episode, I speak with Alisa Griffin about personal safety, not only for women but men as well. Alisa is a native of Baltimore, MD. She graduated from Virginia State University with a B.S. in Public Administration. She has enjoyed a 30+ year career with Blue Cross Blue Shield. Her current position is Business Consultant.

Alisa is also a 30-year member of the American Business Women’s Association. She was named a Top Ten Business Woman in 2019. She currently serves as a Co-Lead for the National Women’s Leadership Conference. Locally, she is a member of the Maryland Capital Chapter where she serves as the Communications Chair and Chapter Advisor.

Alisa joined Damsel in Defense in 2019 right before the pandemic started. She had a desire to have a business but more importantly, a business that impacted women. As an Independent Damsel Pro, Alisa has the opportunity to share personal safety practices with women and explain how Damsel’s products can help keep them and their families safe.

In spite of ongoing health challenges, Alisa’s favorite phrase is “push forward.” Keep pushing despite challenges. Be an overcomer.

I guess you can take the girl out of Texas but you can't take Texas out of the girl. I was born here in Dallas and moved away at age 8. After 30 years of moving around the United States, as a child with the family and as an adult without them, I finally found myself back in Dallas. Since I returned in 2001 I have sold furniture for Crate&Barrel and Real Estate with Keller Williams. It is my hope to share with you what I love, question, and find interesting here in DFW.
